Antonov AN-2s were still being made as production aircraft until a few years ago. The fact that the design had hardly changed since it came off the drawing board in 1947 is a testament to the adaptability, durability and efficiency of this 'classic' aeroplane.

Whilst there are no more new AN-2s being made, it is still possible to acquire fully refurbished aircraft from a number of specialist outlets in Eastern Europe.
