A brief background .....
Paul Squires only began flying at the end of 2003. Prior to becoming addicted to flying he has spent time indulging himself in scuba diving, karate, parachuting, fencing, shooting (handguns and shotguns), motorcycling and driving Porsches too fast - obviously a restless soul !!
Since obtaining a Private Pilot's Licence in January 2004, he has undertaken a night rating, Instrument Meteorological Conditions rating (IMC), Multi Engine rating (MEP), some aerobatics, a tailwheel course and a P1 rating on the Antonov AN-2. Further studies are ongoing and Helicopters are next on the list!.
Clearly looking for action and adventure as an antidote to his rather sedentary occupation running a firm of Independent Financial Advisers, the challenges provided by flying have displaced most other activities and he is now well and truly hooked on aviation. Paul has flown an array of different aircraft - modern and classic. Included in the classic group is the rare and challenging AT-6D Harvard Mk III, WWII aerobatic, fighter trainer (further details of the AT-6D at Broken Wing Aviation).
Paul has worked for a Bank, a Building Society, a Pension and Investment company and an Independent Financial Adviser. He has qualified as a Chartered Financial Planner, an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institue, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Arts . His ambition is to one day get a 'proper' job flying something old and interesting or jumping out of it!
